I was driving down an empty highway. My car careened off the road and flew through the air landing in a huge body of water. I struggled to get out of the car as it sunk and just made it out the window. My clothing began to weigh me down as it became saturated so I took my shoes and clothes off. There was a long moment when I didn’t know if I would survive. Fear was at first everything, then a person who was standing on the high wall around the dam offered to help me. As I reached up for their help, they began mocking me and laughing at my misfortune. I concluded that there was not going to be a rescuer, that I would have to figure it out myself. So I began swimming. There was what looked like a barge some distance away. As it got closer, I could see that it was several people who were bonded together . They were swimming, but not with difficulty like I was. One person invited me to swim along side of them. She said that if I got tired I could place my hand on her shoulder and it would give me rest. Then I could see that they loved each other. That the bonding was an unwavering regard for each other and I also began to experience hope. Hope that we would find a landing place together. Hope that love is real and has substance.
Hope ……………..hope beyond the walls of this world.
