Atlantic

By the sea by Dorsey Mchugh
Boston:  April 2012
There is nothing like the ocean.  Nothing compares to how the air feels and smells and sounds.
It is ancient and stirring, and mysterious, and familiar all in the same moment.  This moment.
As I sat on the rocks, looking out at the dark blue water I felt as if i could “feel” eternity within me.
I have no proof, but, my thought was that if I could slow down enough, I would “see” eternity’s
doorway.
There are children playing with kites.  Couples walking hand in hand.  Dogs running gleefully.
Seagulls flying.  No future, no past.  only this moment.  It’s time for dinner now.  Back into this
other story.  A new baby,  movie night. Thinking about how many pounds need to be lost
somewhere in order to wear a bathing suit.We are in our own stories.  Working, laughing, crying,
living and dying.  All in the same moment.  This moment.
