And What is Love?

What is Love?

AND WHAT IS LOVE? 36×30

Sometimes there is no better word for life than “delicious”.  This morning I have been listening to, and dancing with Buddy Holly. I listened to Brene’ Brown’s TedTalk on vulnerability before the sun was up and before finishing my first cup of coffee.  I had a laugh and a conversation with both of my amazing sisters. All these stimulants are lifting me from “how the hell am I gonna do this by myself?” to near euphoria.

I am filled with gratitude for friends, for sisters, for music, for art.  I get to sit down at my easel in a few moments for meditation and “therape”. The paint plays lovely music too, and I get to write another story on canvas.  What more could I ask for really?  This leg of my journey was born as a conscious quest for connection a few years ago.  I knew after having open-heart surgery to replace a congenitally flawed aortic valve, my life would not be the same.  My heart was new.  I wanted to know and be known.  I wanted to listen more carefully, to love and be loved, to be vulnerable about my own needs.  After making mistakes, and winning many battles, I have arrived at “my glass is definitely half full”, not half empty.  I love the contrast shadows give my light.  There is not a bit of guilt about playing and I hope you all are somewhere on this path as well.  Don’t believe the lies.  Keep your eyes on the light. Laugh as often as you can, and share what you are given so someone else can laugh too.
