A HOME FOR MY HEART 8×8 acrylic on board
“A Home for My Heart” began dancing around in my mind a few days before the image came to me. I was thinking about what home is and how often the first time we see a place, it calls to us and tells us where our heart belongs. People call to us in the same way. We meet them and from the first moment, we understand we will know them for a long time. This image carries in it the message that we are loved, and when we follow our hearts, we are making our way home.
Love the story behind the painting and the way you use those colors!
Great picture Dorsey! The word ‘home’ is so evocative that some of the most popular songs, movies and stories talk about it. Going home, finding your home, coming back to your home, making a home, etc.
I wonder what people think about if they close their eyes and imagine Home. Does their childhood home come to mind or is it a favorite Aunt or Grandparent’s house that they think of? (especially for those who have traveled as children from place to place).Or does the mental image of home keep changing as we get older? Just wondering…
