Yellow Roses

oil on canvasWhen he boarded the train to meet Patience, True thought of how he felt about her. Their magnetic attraction, even after all this time, was still a surprise. He had chosen yellow roses to communicate his feelings for her. Soon they would be in the same room, in each other’s presence. Hopefully it would be easy to hold her, to tell her how he felt. He was not good with words but He had an honest connection with his own inner life. He knew that he could devote himself to her. He knew that he would cherish her and care for her. He knew he would love her for a very long time. These flowers, their sweet color held a significance for him. He had endured too much sadness before this moment. It was time for a new beginning, a new reality for them both, a time for them to love and be loved, to know and to be known. As we step into their story with them, we see that they are not that different from ourselves. We all share this same longing.
